Bettendorf girls fall in OT to Clinton

The Bulldogs lost in overtime after rallying to tie up the game in regulation. The boys varsity basketball team also lost to the River Kings, but the contest was never close as Clinton led throughout by a wide margin. The boys returned to the winning column Sat., Feb. 2 with a win at home against Iowa City West.

The Board of Education January 21 approved the transfer of
Don Dehner from his position as Principal of Bridgeview Elementary to Principal of Pleasant View Elementary and Brian Strusz from his role as Athletic Director at Pleasant Valley High School to Principal of Pleasant Valley Junior High for the 2002-03 school year. Both appointments will become effective July 1, 2002.

The ball and the game are up for grabs in this final play of the game Friday night between Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley boys basketball teams. With Bettendorf ahead by two points, Pleasant Valley lobbed the ball to the center with less than 2 seconds left. The ball sailed high and the Bulldogs escaped with a 50-48 win at Pleasant Valley.
