With new coach Dave Terronez and the long-time assistant coach Gary Hirsch, the Bettendorf High School Girl's Basketball team has been competing with renewed spirit this season.
The squad is currently tied for second place in the Mississippi Athletic Conference with an 8-3 record.
In order for the Bettendorf girls to go to state, they have to win three straight games against Davenport Central, Clinton and Davenport West.
According to junior Jenny Eisenlauer, the state-ranked and league-leading Davenport West Falcons will be the toughest test.
The West game is 7:30 p.m. February 6 at West, while the Clinton game is at 7:30 p.m. February 9 at home. The state tournament will be March 5-10 in Des Moines.
