Bettendorf ran out of gas in the fourth period and fell to seventh-ranked Muscatine 67-51 in boys MAC action Friday night.
The Bulldogs and Muskies were tied 47-47 at the end of three periods, but scored only four point the remainder of the game as Muscatine relied on the strong inside presence of C.J. Barkema to pull away for the victory.
The win keeps Muscatine in the hunt for the MAC title, while Bettendorf falls to 5-4 in the conference.
