Duck swim among patches of ice along the Mississippi River shoreline in Bettendorf. The recent cold snap created more ice on area ponds and rivers, but a thaw with temperatures in the 50's are expected over the weekend.

Bulldogs and Spartans both ''got game''

Both Bettendorf boys and girls teams defeated their Pleasant Valley counterparts January 17. The boys and girls doubleheader at Bettendorf packed the stands. Both games were close until the final minutes.

Splash Landing progress



While the weather has been much warmer than normal, the swimming season is many months away. At least come spring, Splash Landing will once again be open after completion of the latest renovation work which includes a new filter system and pool structure.
