BETTENDORF PARK BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 13, 2004

The Bettendorf Park Board held a special meeting on July 13, 2004 at 4:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Present: Kamp, Makoben, Beckman, Gackle, and Glenn
Absent: None

MEMBERS PRESENT: Regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Debbie Dayman. Members present: Barsness, Dayman, Kaminski, Messman, O'Hara, Schurr. Absent: Hoffmann. Also present: Jim Spelhaug, Cyndy Behrer, Mike Clingingsmith and Christine Harvey.

AGENDA APPROVED: Motion by O'Hara, second by Schurr that the Agenda be approved as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.

COMMUNICATIONS: Director Kaminski said that a number of people had asked her why the first day of school was on August 18. Dr. Spelhaug replied that the Board had approved the August 18 start date over other dates primarily because it provided the high school the necessary days to complete first semester and final exams before the winter holiday.

New retail stores at Duck Creek

Construction continues on two new retail stores at Duck Creek Plaza. The new buildings will flank both sides of the main entrance to the renovated mall property. The new McDonald's restaurant opening in July and site work continues for the new Schnuck's supermarket.

End of season for Bettendorf/PV Youth Baseball

Fans enjoy one of the final games of the season at the Crow Creek Park baseball complex. The Bettendorf/Pleasant Valley Youth Baseball teams wrapped up play with end-of-the-season tournaments.
