Register for winter sports at Scott County Family Y

The Scott County Family Y is now accepting registrations for our 2004 WINTER BASKETBALL program for boys and girls who are currently in Kindergarten-High School. The Y offers basketball for pre-school age children called Biddy Basketball (5 week season). Games are played on Saturdays. The 8 week season begins of January 11th, with an early registration deadline of December 5.

The Scott County Family Y is now accepting registrations for our 2004 INDOOR SOCCER PROGRAM for boys and girls who are in Pre-School ñ 7th grade. Games will be played on Saturdays. The 7 week season begins on January 24, with and early registration deadline of December 23. A foam soccer ball is used and combines the skills and excitement of soccer with the warmth of an indoor gym.

The Scott County Family Y is now accepting registrations for our 2004 SNO-BOUND SKI CLUB for the entire family (9 years and older). In conjunction with Snow Star Winter Sports Park, the YMCA is offering classes in downhill skiing and snowboarding. Participants will be tested on skill levels during the beginning of the program and placed in an appropriate lesson if needed. Free time is provided for participants to practice their skills. The program is offered for 4 or 8 weeks on Tuesday or 4 weeks on Wednesday night with early registration deadline of December 26. The program begins January 6th.

Bettendorf Middle School Band in Halloween parade


The Bettendorf Middle School Band needed gloves and stocking hats to keep warm while marching in the Halloween parade Sunday, Oct. 26.

Opening of new Duck Creek Walgreens nears


The new Walgreens Drug Store at Duck Creek is nearing completion. The free-standing building at Middle and E. Kimberly will replace the Walgreens store in the old Duck Creek Mall.

The Bettendorf High School Band marches down Spruce Hills Drive during the homecoming parade Thursday, Oct. 16. The parade kicked off homecoming activities, including the game Friday night against undefeated Muscatine at TouVelle Stadium.
