Also present: Jim Spelhaug, Cyndy Behrer, Mike Clingingsmith, Christine Harvey, Cathy Miller, Dan Congreve, and Bill Barker.

OATH OF OFFICE: The oath of office was administered to new board member Kathy Kaminski, Director District #2.

Aldermen Joe Douglas, left, and Norm Voelliger toss candy to kids along the July 4 parade route Sunday. Ideal weather brought out thousands to enjoy the annual parade, daylong events and evening fireworks.

The usually busy Bettendorf Middle School parking lot has become a large excavation as contractors begin work to enlarge and reconfigure the school entrance and west parking lot.
