1. Call to Order. The Board of Directors of the Bettendorf Community School District, in the County of Scott, state of Iowa, met in open session according to Iowa law for their regular Board meeting at the Ray Stensvad Administration Center, 3311 Central Avenue, Bettendorf, Iowa, on November 1, 2004.

President Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Board recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Lynne Lindstrom, Board Secretary, verified that the meeting notice had been posted and mailed to the media as required by law.

Members present: Directors Anderson, Castro, Crockett, Ehrmann, Luton, Mayer, Weigle. Members absent: None. Other officials present: John Perdue, Superintendent; Carol Webb, Assistant Superintendent; Maxine McEnany, Director of Business & Financial Services; Celeste Reuter, Director of Communications; Joe Slavens, Board Treasurer; Erin Cavanaugh, Student Council Representative; Lynne Lindstrom, Board Secretary.>

1. Call to Order.

The Board of Directors of the Bettendorf Community School District, in the County of Scott, state of Iowa, met for a special meeting at the Ray Stensvad Administration Center, 3311 Central Avenue, Bettendorf, Iowa, on November 1, 2004.

Bulldogs advance with 31-7 win over Assumption


Halfback Tim Jackson gets the handoff from quarterback Ryan Fick early in the playoff game against Davenport Assumption Monday (11/8) at TouVelle Stadium. Bettendorf, unbeaten and ranked second in the state poll, advanced to the 4A football semifinals with a convincing 31-7 win over the Knights (7-3). The Bulldogs scored three times on passes from Fick to wide receiver Chris Ivory and Jackson added a 30-yard TD run. A 25-yard fieldgoal by Chris Mahoski completed the Bettendorf scoring. Football playoff match-up season opener repeat


The football playoffs began with a repeat of the season opener between Bettendorf (9-0) and Pleasant Valley (7-2). While the Bulldogs handled the Spartans easily in September, the game Wednesday night (11/3) was a much tougher and closer contest. Pleasant Valley held a 6-0 lead until Bettendorf scored a touchdown in the final seconds of the second quarter. Leading 7-6 in the fourth, Bettendorf added a 15-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fick to Chris Ivory and a 20-yard TD run by halfback Tim Jackson to seal the win. Next up for Bettendorf is a rematch with Davenport Assumption Monday (11/8) at TouVelle Stadium. Assumption (8-2) defeated Muscatine in its playoff opener 38-3.
