PV boys fall short in state tourney



The Pleasant Valley Spartans' fine season came to an abrupt end in the first round of the 4A boys state basketball playoffs, losing 55-48 to Iowa City High.

The Spartans trailed throughout the contest, but got as close as three in the final period. Tom Anthony led the Spartans with 20 points, Seth Hamilton scored 14 and center Eric Heil had 8.
