Bettendorf boys fall short in substate final

Bettendorf fell just short in its upset bid against Dubuque Wahlert Tuesday night (3/6) as the Golden Eagles posted a 44-43 victory over the Bulldogs.

The loss in the substate final at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque ended an up and down season for the Bulldogs, who finished the year 15-8.

Wahlert,ranked fourth in 4A, takes a 20-2 record to the state 4A tournament in Des Moines.
