Bettendorf wrestlers grappling with a young team

The Bettendorf wrestlers have been struggling this year with only three seniors returning from last season.
Their record is 7-5 in the Mississippi Athletic Conference.

"Our team is struggling mainly due to inexperience amongst all of our younger wrestlers," said Joel Schorg, a senior on the varsity wrestling team.
"As a team, we are young, but improving at an extraordinary rate and next year it will be a magnificent team," added Schorg.
The three departing seniors, Schorg, Andrew Marshall, and Brent Martin, will be replace by several talented junior and sophomore wrestlers. Tony Cavallo, Anthony Bribriesco, Mike Sunderbruch, Bob Flaherty and Doug Defrates (all juniors) are expected to help the team significantly next year.
The MAC tournament is February 3 in Clinton. This will be a very important meet for the wrestlers because it determines seeding in the district.
