River Gulf grain terminal takes shape

Workmen erect the steel framework of the new River Gulf Grain Terminal, south of Depot Street and west of 31st Street, Bettendorf.

The grain terminal had been leasing property owned by the city of Davenport along River Drive, and is in the process of moving the operation to land owned by the company on Bettendorf's riverfront. Grain trucks will use 31st and Depot Street to deliver grain to the terminal. Depot Street is to be upgraded in order to handle the increased semi-trailer truck traffic. View earlier article.

The new River Gulf terminal is located just blocks from Alter Company, its parent firm, and the QC Waterfront Center.

Depot Street is to be improved to handle the anticipated increase in semi-truck trailer traffic to the new grain terminal.
