Google recently announced to developers the source code is now available for its Wave project/platform. The Wave is essentially a web-based platform which will allow developers to create applications incorporating email, maps, blogs, documents, photographs and project management functions. Users are able to share with anyone else using a Wave browser platform. It also can be embedded in any web page for sharing information.
The Wave could enable Google to gain more corporate users who currently rely on Microsoft applications, and it could have a significant impact on Adobe sharing software such as Acrobat.
One feature of Wave is the "email" application with a playback loop that allows a replay of any "conversation" so a third party doesn't have to read through a long list of copied email replies.
The Wave was developed by the same Google people who created Google Maps, the highly successful shared application found on nearly every web site in one form or another.
MLB.TV to iPhone
Mobile phones have long been a popular destination for Major League Baseball scoreboard and play-by-play updates, and now MLB.TV has begun streaming selected games to iPhones through a new iPhone application you can purchase for $10.
The initial live streaming of games (2 a day) is free, but will likely require some payment in the future as the games offered by MLB.TV expand.

Not sure exactly why, but one of the fastest growing local web sites, daytrotter.com, has fallen off the radar screen on Quantcast. The music site had been ranked 25,969 with more than 61,000 unique monthly visitors last October, but Quantcast now ranks the site at 505,209 with only 2,000 unique monthly visitors. Another web ranking engine, Alexa, has daytrotter at 83,124, ahead of the qctimes.com site at 85,448.
Sean Moeller, Founder of Daytrotter.com, replies: Not sure how those numbers (quantcast) were generated. We had our biggest month in Daytrotter's history according to all of our third-party analyticals -- Google Analytics in particular -- generating over 104,000 unique visitors and 1.8 million page views. We've never been bigger.
