The Winter Guard International competition will be held February 24-25 in Normal, Illinois.
Drumline groups from around the Midwest region come to compete in three classifications: scholastic A, open-class and world-class. Bettendorf's drumline group will compete in the scholastic A classification against seven other groups in our region.
"Our show is classic Santana, including songs such as 'Black Magic Women' and 'Oy y Como Va'," said Louis Goral, the quad/tenor captain of the drumline.
Last year the Bettendorf drumline won second place in scholastic A classification.
"This year we hope to do as well as we did last year," said Goral.
