Bettendorf alderman at-large candidate Gary Mohr has raised nearly $10,000 to fund his campaign, while his opponent in next Tuesday's election (11/5) apparently has spent less than the $750 threshold for filing financial reports with the state.
Mohr, of 4755 School House Road, and Chad Miller, of 4340 Tanglewood Road, are seeking to fill the aldermanic seat now held by Tim Stecker, who announced in September he would not seek another 4-year term on the city council.
A third person, Kurt Whalen, of 2733 Heather Lane, filed to run for the at-large seat, but later withdrew his petition.

Second Ward Alderman Scott Naumann and Fourth Ward Alderman Greg Adamson are running unopposed in next week's election.
Miller has been a vocal critic of the city's recreational trails, in particular the portion of new Crow Creek Trail which extends near his property. Miller is a self-employed IT consultant, while Mohr is the external affairs director for Eastern Iowa Community College.
Mohr was campaign chair of Mayor Bob Gallagher's 2011 campaign and currently is treasurer of the mayor's campaign committee. He is chairman of the Riverboat Development Authority (RDA), the non-profit organization which holds the gambling license for the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport.
Also up for election in next week's municipal voting are two seats on the Bettendorf Park Board. Thomas Dryg, Larry Makoben and Steven Wilger are running for two openings on the board. Makoben is seeking re-election to the board. The other incumbent, Gary Kamp, opted not to seek another 4-year term.
