Part of the "FANTASTIC FAMILY FARE" program this fall sponsored by the Bettendorf Family Museum of Arts & Science is a Junior Girl Scout Badge Workshop on Friday, October 17th, from 6-9PM. The badge the Girl Scouts will earn is Yarn and Fabric Arts which touches on many projects and hobbies.

Even non-Girl Scouts will enjoy an evening of learning about different yarn and fabric projects. Every wonder how to knit or crochet? This is the place to get an up close, hands on demonstration. Junior Girl Scouts are usually 3rd -6th grade and will be able to work on a Charity Doll Quilt project plus see beautiful examples of fabric art, quilts and discuss quilting with some local artists.

Get back to the 70's with a macramÈ demonstration and learn some embroidery stitches too! Register on line at: fmasscouts@aol.com or call the museum at 563-344-4170 to register by phone. Fee: $18.00 which includes a snack and the Family Museum Patch. Interested in volunteering to sew doll quilts? Call or email to let the museum know! Then bring your own sewing machine, thread & scissors.
